My family
We thank all of them for teaching us this trade.
It is our life.
The passion for our work
Our childhood
Since we were very young, we have always been surrounded by sweets. When the time of the pilgrimages and festivals in the nearby towns came, there was a lot of activity in our homes, and of course, everyone had to help out.
When Yolanda and I talk, we remember our childhood with great affection. How our parents would go into the 'bajera' and place the pots with water, sugar, and food coloring, starting to prepare all kinds of traditional candies like figurines, hammers, lollipops, suckers... In short, a multitude of sweets.
That's where our love for our work comes from.
.
Their childhood (our parents' childhood)
They have always told us how, when they were very young, they lost their father (in fact, my mother was born 15 days after my grandfather was executed), but our grandmother Cirila, a great woman, raised all her children, who were not few (12 births), by working very hard with sugar. This was the legacy that our grandfather Santiago had left her; she had learned to make everything: from candies to cookies, wafers, ice creams. In short, all kinds of sweets. From a very young age, she would prepare a basket for them, which they would take to the station and board the train. Some traveled the Tafalla-Castejón route, and others Tafalla-Pamplona, where they sold and returned home with the proceeds.
They also went to pilgrimages, festivals, and other events to try to sell their products, and that's how they passed on their love for sweets to us.
Our grandfather Santiago inherited all his knowledge from our great-grandfather Pablo.
Sweets full of tradition
After many decades working together, our parents (who are siblings) taught us the trade, and we decided to follow in their footsteps. We traveled across the entire country attending craft fairs, medieval markets, and festivals.
We have taken countless courses to continue learning (Paris, Barcelona, Brussels... etc).
We are members of the Association of Artisan Foods of Navarra, Reyno Gourmet, and Singular Dendak of Gipuzkoa.
A few years ago, we decided to start our own business and opened a store in the heart of Iruña on Estafeta Street, where we are thrilled thanks to our customers. We make all kinds of candied nuts, candies, nougat, gummies, and chocolates, always with a lot of love and the finest ingredients. Later, we opened another store in the Old Town of Donostia on Puerto Street, near the Plaza de la Constitución.
